You will receive both antique paintings with the purchase of this listing. These two paintings were painted in the late 1800s. One landscape painting and one painting of two birds in flight. They're painted with an oil medium on a paper mache type platter, and both have heavy signs of wear and age. You will find signs of grime and dirt on the surface of both and if you prefer, the surfaces are sturdy enough that they could be gently cleaned upon receipt. We happen to appreciate the moodiness the years of age and dirt have given them, but if cleaned up it would brighten the art beautifully. The landscape painting shows the most signs of wear with worn corners and edges. See listing photos closely for best description of age. The hanging mechanism on the landscape painting is in fair shape and the mechanism on the bird painting is more tattered. Both of these paintings are very lightweighted and the existing hanging mechanisms still work perfectly for hanging. A really beautiful antique set that complement each other well. A perfect way to add a mix of visual interest into a gallery wall. The smaller landscape would also be perfect for a bookshelf. In order to retain the longevity of these pieces, we recommend displaying them in a location that does not produce excessive moisture (i.e., do not display in bathrooms, around the sink, dishwasher or stove).

The Landscape art has the following inscription written on the back: "Painted in 1884 Anna S. Prowell."

    Measurements (approximate):
    Landscape - 12 inches wide x 8 inches tall x 1 inch depth
Birds in Flight - 15.75 inches in diameter x 1.1 inch in depth
