Cobalt blue in color and the white areas on the ironstone appear stained with the transferware dye. The large Victoria Ware stamp on the bottom is an indication that this piece is Chinese made and would have been produced in the late 20th century. Essentially, chinese Chinoiserie, imitating European ironstone. The transferware print on this vessel is really striking and captures a European town scene. It's a really beautiful pot that could be used as a planter or a catchall, for serving guests in the kitchen or displaying hand towels in a bathroom. The functional possibilities for this piece are endless. It would also be absolutely stunning packed full of hydrangeas or other full and dramatic florals. This vessel is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks or breaks.
