This is a small portrait print of the famous Diego Velázquez painting Lady with a Fan, originally painted around 1638 or 1639. Diego Velázquez was a Spanish Court Painter and the original painting is currently displayed in London, England at The Wallace Collection museum. This particular print is really interesting because it has been embellished over the top with oil paints to highlight subtle details in the painting (like her rosary). It is mounted on linen and framed in a stunning way making this a really beautifully moody piece of portrait art. Perfect to add to a gallery wall, hang on its own and it's also the perfect size for a bookshelf. There is a sizable chip to the wood on the front of the frame (looks to have happened relatively recently due to the color of the wood under the chip) and the framing paper has been ripped on the back side. See listing photos for best description of condition. Otherwise, this framed piece is in beautiful condition, so unique and has hanging hardware installed on the back for easy installation in your space.
