This listing is for a small vintage framed print of the painting "Kit Carson" originally painted in 1854 by Willian Tylee Ranney. This is the perfect small piece of art to add to a gallery wall, bookshelf or open shelving. Christopher (Kit) Houston Carson was an American frontiersman, fur trapper, wilderness guide, Indian agent and a United States Army Officer. He became a frontier legend in his own lifetime through biographies and new articles. Although he was famous for much of his life, historians in later years point out that Kit Carson did not like, want or even fully understand the fame that he experienced during his life. A pretty epic depiction of a fellow who didn't even realize the impact he had on society around him. The print and frame are in great vintage condition. The frame is aged and weather in all the perfect spots and some of the exterior paint has chipped off revealing an excellent contrast underneath. Frame is in sturdy condition and backed with cardboard. There is a small hanger attached to the back, making it ready to hang. Alternatively, the bulky construction allows it to set easily upright on its frame.
