Antique Moody Landscape Oil on Board in Gold Gilt Gesso Wood Frame - unsigned

Absolutely stunning landscape painting in a moody colorway. The ambiance and depth in this paining is really beautiful. The gold glow of the sun rise (or sunset) in the upper left corner communicates the light in such a lovely way. The purple landscape hues in the foreground provide stunning movement leading the eye to bank of the river flowing in the background. An absolutely gorgeous piece full of age and antique character. This painting was not lacquered leaving a matte finish that does not reflect or glare. In the corners of the painting, you can see chipping and loss from rubbing on the frame overtime. The painting is unsigned and the artist unknown. General grime and wear due to age across the surface of the paining (see lighting photos). There are spots on the antique frame that have loss to the gesso and have been painted over with gold paint that contrasts from the gold tone on the frame (see listing photos). This is an easy fix if you so choose. A rub and buff across the whole frame would fix the differences in gold tone. The differences in tone are not too noticeable but do stand out in direct natural light. There is a hanging wire installed on the back of the frame, and it is ready to install in your space.

SHIPPING
As much as possible, we utilize recycled shipping boxes. The box you receive your item in may show signs of wear and pre-use.

All photos are taken in natural light and we do not use any photo filters and do not perform and photo editing (other than basic photo cropping). Depending on your monitor settings, there may be subtle differences in color once you see your item in person.
